aboutus

Filey Lions Club was formed (Chartered) in March 1964, the club was formally recognised by Lions International in June that year. We have recently celebrated our 60th anniversary of serving Filey and the local community and our current membership is 18, with almost as many ladies and men, which was not the case in 1964.

The club is well known in the local area for our  community service and support or many great causes, local clubs and societies and individuals in

need. We meet on the 3rd Thursday of every month

and welcome new members.

See Our Committees page for more details.

You may have seen Filey Lions minibus about town. The vehicle is a community asset and covers more miles supporting other organisations, schools and charities than it does on Filey Lions business. It is, however, our workhorse for the many fundraising and community support activities we carry our every month.

Our well supported annual events include:

  • Bonfire and Firework spectacular

  • Over 85's Christmas Party

  • Annual Ball Race

  • Annual Golf Day

  • Trolley Dashes

  • Halloween Competition

  • 10k Beach Race

  • Santa Sleigh runs
